How to Make Money Online

Can You Really Make $100 a day Online

As you know I’m broke. I lost all my money in a bricks and mortar business and I’m starting again from scratch at the age of 52 (nearly 53).

So last night I was stressing because I didn’t have rent money and although I have over 30 applications outstanding for a ‘real’ job, I’m still getting 3 rejections everyday when I open my inbox, so I don’t think that’s going to be something that will solve my problems any time soon.

I was lying in bed and I remember my son telling me to check out some Youtube videos on how to make $100.00 a day online. Because I was uber stressed and without rent money, I thought why not?

So some of these ideas, as you would expect, are a bit dodgy, but there were some that had some merit. So this week, I’m going to be a crash test dummy and try to make $100.00 a day online and report back to tell you which ones actually worked, and which ones didn’t.

As I’m a writer I went down this route immediately anyway and am trying to boost my freelance writing opportunities. So far, my Upwork and Linked In profiles are not seeing any results, but I will keep hammering away at those. I am also still writing my books but that is a medium 3-6 months goal. I need rent – yesterday.

One of the sites that was recommended was iwriter.com and this is what I found when I went to enrol.

Well Pooh.

Next thing I’m trying is the survey route. This will mean I will have to sacrifice one of my email accounts because you can really get spammed quite badly once you go down this rabbit hole but we’ll see. Usually people make money on these sites by referring other people and it ends up being a huge rat wheel. I am going to solely just complete surveys and see how much money I make in the next 7 days.

Ebay arbitrage is another thing I will try (again). I have been down this road before many moons ago, but I’m going to do it with fresh eyes and see whether it’s a thing or not. Arbitrage is basically finding a product that is in demand, sourcing it cheaper than current prices on ebay, and listing it for sale, underneath the current sale price, but still enough profit to make it worth your while. Along this route, Facebook Marketplace is another area where I will be trying the arbitrage strategy but without the use of Facebook Ads because I’m broke and can’t afford to buy them right now.

Part of this strategy also can include leveraging customers to your own shopify or online store. I have a couple of these already established from another time in my life where this didn’t work, so I’m going to rejuvenate those and see if I can get any traction on that as well.

Amazon – specifically Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) is another thing that is highly promoted by the gurus who tell you how to make $100 a day online. This is very tricky and is not for those without capital and money to (waste) invest in product. You have to be really, really sure that the product you’re investing in inventory is going to sell, otherwise you can be left with thousands of dollars of inventory that just won’t sell. I did this a few years ago and I don’t think times have changed for the better, there is just more competition than ever and it is more and more difficult to get a foot into this type of model. Not saying it’s not impossible, just be very cautious  and very sure about what you’re trying to sell.

I also started a Facebook Page for Vegan Birthday Cakes as a little project to see if that’s going to give me enough demand to actually start another little business.

So these are the short term things I’m going to try this week to see if I can make $100.00 a day in 7 days. I will report back and let you know and see if we can bust a myth or prove that it’s possible.
